Here is a new time suck for you, but first, a warning: if you have a slightly twisted sense of humor, like myself, you may want to make sure your bladder is empty because there is no way you will be able to hold it in once the laughing commences.
Over at Faith & Family Live! there is an article with a link to the site Cake Wrecks, and it was just the thing I needed today. Maybe some of you already know about this site, and if you do, shame on you for not telling me!
This is directly from the Cake Wreck blog profile:
A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy,
inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's
simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever
smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in
unexpected, sugar-filled places.
We've all seen at least one cake in our lives that was not quite right, but Cake Wrecks has assembled them all in one place. The explanations of these attempted masterpieces are hilarious (although the language can be a little off color at times, but not too much).
Some of them had me wiping away tears of laughter, all while trying to breathe through my stuffy nose. It wasn't pretty. Sally kept trying to pat my arm and comfort me, but how could I explain to her that Mommy was fine, just incredibly amused by this cake? Or how about these?
But for some reason, these just sent me around the bend. Go ahead, try not to laugh.
I think the first one with the mutant baby on top is the best.
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween.
OMG, I am scrolling through the whole site...this is TOO funny, especially since I myself have made some cakes that could qualify as wrecks....the red & blue hot wheels cake predicting "purple poo in the morning" had me in tears...I needed this laugh! Thanks!
