You Know You're Tired When . . .

  • Your 5 year old knocks on the shower door and wakes you up

  • Your 18 month old brings you her own diaper and wipes, saying POOP!, and you suddenly realize that the wretched smell permeating the house is not the garbage you forgot to take out

  • You get changed at the end of the day and realize that you've been wearing your bra inside out all day

  • You haven't posted to your blog for a week

  • You spend twenty minutes looking for your baby's warm footie pajamas, then give up and put her in less warm, foot exposed pajamas, only to find the pajamas right where you left them -- in between the sheets of your neatly made bed.

  • You steam some broccoli in the microwave as a healthful side dish for your family's dinner. Unfortunately, you don't remember to serve it until breakfast the next morning.

And how can you tell all of this is due to pregnancy? (Besides the enormous belly . . .)

All of this happens in one day.

From someone who has DEFINITELY been there...my sympathies. Not long to wait now :0)

  2. Oh, I'm aching for you.

    And yawning for you, too.

    But you do look radiant!

  3. Wow, that is some day! I hope you get some (obviously much needed) rest this weekend. And it is funny--or will be in a few months when you are looking back on it.

  4. oh, that is funny. poor you.

it's nice that sally was being so helpful, bringing you the wipes and diapers. sadie just takes hers off and runs around naked, not bothering to bring me the new ones. need to train her a little on that....

  5. Isn't it incredibly cruel that you're not supposed to have caffeine during the time when you could use it the most? ;)

Wow, you need some rest- hope you get it. But don't feel bad, that sounds like my typical day and I am not even pregnant (for a change)

  7. I can sympathize. I have started going to bed earlier and earlier, and have started falling asleep in the pickup carpool line at school. More times than I would like to mention the ringing bell has jarred me awake, or another mom will come to the car to talk to me about something and find me snoozing. I fell asleep at work the other day, too. Not too much longer to go, though!

  9. Oh, that's hysterical. I'm laughing with you, not at you. I've done all of those things. But bless your heart, I've never done them all in one day.

Hang in there, the end is coming. And then you'll be up all night with a wonderful, sweet smelling newborn.

  10. Hang in there. It won't be long until you are holding that sweet baby in your arms. :)
Then you can sleep as much as you like because we all know how much sleep mothers of newborns get!
