I wasn't sure if I had mentioned that before . . .
I seriously need to get my rear in gear and figure out some logistics in this house, but this time around, Rob and I seem to be taking the laissez-faire approach to having a baby.
Let's be honest, by the time you get around to number five, pretty much anything goes. All you need are some diapers, a blanket, and a place for the baby to sleep. If all else fails, they can sleep in a dresser drawer, right?
Oh, I kid. All our dresser drawers are full, so we'd have to use a wash basket.
In an attempt to distract myself from all of the nesting left to do, I figure it's high time for me to put up The Official HomeFront Corp Baby Pool, 2010 Edition. This is exciting for me, folks, and it definitely helps me get through these last weeks.
This year we are going for a simple approach: you leave a comment with your guesses for the gender, date, and weight of the baby. You have until Saturday, March 20th (a week before my due date), and then I will close the comments.
The person with the overall closest guess will be the winner and owner of supreme bragging rights. Along with those bragging rights, Rob and I will make a donation in their honor to Mary's Shelter, an area residence offering support, education, and medical care for women facing crisis pregnancies. Every baby deserves a good start, right?
And, just because I love you, here's some inside info:
- My due date is Saturday, March 27
- Yes, I am ginormous, as evidenced by the photos below. Just keepin' it honest, folks.
- I have gone late more times than not. Bun was the only one who came early, and that induction was a combination of health factors/wrong due date.
- I was very sick in the first trimester, like I was with Francie and Sally, but now I feel great like I did with Fiver. (Bun's pregnancy was a whole other kettle of fish. Not unlike the Bun himself.)
- My doctor says she won't let me go much more than a week overdue, so I guess there really is a cut-off date.
Rob and I will proffer our guesses first, but we won't count ourselves as a real part of the pool. That's all you, my friends. Come on, you know you want to jump in . . . .
Rob: Girl, March 29th, 9lbs.
Aimee: Girl, April 3, 8 lbs. 15 oz.
(okay, I know I look morose, but I feel weird when I smile at myself taking my picture in the bathroom mirror. I really feel much more chipper than I look. The girth, however, is completely accurate. Gah.)
Go ahead and get to guessin'!
It's a boy.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty good at this.
Boy.
Boy.
Boy.
You look great.
Well, you do have a good pattern going so I'm guessing:
ReplyDeleteGIRL
March 31
8 lbs 13 oz
I was gonna guess low (weight) until I saw those pictures. Whoa. (hehe) Your face looks thin so that tells me that's a lotta baby.
ReplyDeleteGirl
March 29
9 lbs. 2 oz.
Okay, you look like I did with Tigercub and he was 9 lbs 6 oz. I hope you don't have to go there.
ReplyDeleteLet's see, I am always wrong and my instinct says boy, so I'm gonna say girl, March 30, 9 lbs.
Girl (just because I'm having a boy), March 28, 8 lbs. 11 oz.
ReplyDeleteI'm terrible at this. :)
Okay. You look great but your tummy's HUGE! I'm going with a GIRL. April 1st (Fool's Day-HELLO!? #5?!), 9 lbs. 3 oz.
ReplyDeleteJason says-Girl April 2 9 lbs
ReplyDeleteMarguerite says-Boy-March 30 9lbs 4oz...and your hair looks fantastic
Ok, I'm so bad at this...I swore Bun was a girl, and clearly my gut was wrong, ha!
ReplyDeleteGirl
April 1
9lbs 2oz
And I thought the same thing Marguerite did, your hair looks awesome! In fact, you look really good in those pictures - besides the non-smiling - ;)
Love, Juju
girl. April 3. 9 lbs. 7 oz.
ReplyDeleteYou should name her Pasqualina (Little Easter). ;)
Hmmm.
ReplyDeleteBoy, April 1st, around noonish (quick labor). 10 lbs 2 oz. (sorry)
And the "ginormous"? You look PREGNANT. When I was that far along, I just looked... fatter!
MamaK took my answer!
ReplyDeleteBoy
March 31
9lbs 5 oz
Aimee, you look soooo young in those pictures. Cooking babies looks good on you!
Now, I'm off to console my empty uterus.
Girl, march 26 (my bday), 9lbs 2oz.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!! Pics look great!!
I LOVE that we get to see some awesome belly pictures! You look fantastic, Aimee!! Ok, let's see I'll go with:

Okay I am going to say Girl because you seem to have a girl boy pattern going so far...
ReplyDeleteMarch 28th and 9 lbs. 8oz.
Good luck in the final weeks!
Mirabella Mom

ReplyDeleteBOY

ReplyDeleteAnd your hair is FABULOUS!
BOY. April 1. 8 lb 4 oz. (A tiebreaker AND a pattern-breaker)
ReplyDeleteYou look fine--that's a basketball baby right there. I love your hair!
I'm going to be optimistic for ya.
ReplyDeleteGirl
8 lbs 6 oz
March 25th
Tuesday March 23rd
ReplyDeleteGirl
9 lbs 9 ozs
Good Luck - I hope all goes well!!
First of all, I am going to agree with everyone above about how great you look! ALL OVER!
ReplyDeleteMy guesses:
Your belly just looks so Boy to me, so I'm going with that.
That looks to be one healthy sized kiddun, as were the others so I'm gonna say 9 lbs 10 ozs.
As for when...hmmm. For the month of March they say 'In like a lion, out like a lamb' so let's just say this little lamb will come out March 31.
Boy
9lbs 10ozs
March 31
i am going to make a crazy prediction. since my girl was born on march 27th and she was 9lbs. 4oz., then i predict the same for you!
ReplyDeleteGIRL
March 27
9lbs. 4oz.

Gee Gee says:
ReplyDeleteBoy
