Miss Me?

I know, I know. I said I was taking a break, and I am. Except for this little bit right here.

I just wanted to say thanks to you, my friends, for the advice and the nice comments. I'm really not as curmudgeonly as I may sound. (Although I have big time curmudgeon potential.)

I'm going to take your advice and jot down ideas for posts without feeling like I have to finish it in one sitting. And I am also going to use the auto-post feature a little more. It's like the crock-pot of blogging.

Hey, that's awesome: "the crock-pot of blogging." That's got catchphrase written all over it, my friends, so just remember where you heard it first.

Now back to my break.

And PS?: I just realized that I always type the word "going" as "goign." Every stinkin' time. Plus, when I read it quickly in my mind, I read it as one syllable. Like the sound a spring or a cartoon character would make: GOING! Weird.

I'm seen your curmudgeon potential. That last post was no where near close. ;)

You got some great advice and tips on that last post. I've gotta agree with amy. It IS a full time job if you want to be in the top 100 or so. Those ladies spend serious amounts of time with an eye on their computer: twitter, commenting and writing posts for at least 2 blogs.

Most blogging and twittering is done during 2 times in the mommyblog land: 1) when the kids are asleep and 2) when the kids are at school

I'll admit it, a lot of my blogging happens at work. The bandwidth usage of the sites is small enough that my company doesn't really care. I spend at least 8 hours a day in front of a computer, alone in my cubicle. My work involves thinking things through. At times my brain needs to switch gears for a few minutes or I'm waiting for processes to happen. I'll refresh twitter or scratch out a blog post in my paper notebook or a notepad document to put up later on.

Oh, that's my latest tool - a paper notebook. There is a section in my weekly planner for notes and mine is filled with blog ideas.

I've found that posting 3 times a week is good for maintaining readers and small enough to keep blogging as something I do for myself.

Hope this helps a little more!

I totally understand the need to step back and take a break. I have obviously not figured it out since I have only posted about 3 times since coming back! I'll stick with you no matter how much you blog so rest up and I look forward to hearing about things when you return!

I do the goign thing too!
Now that sounds a little weird.

  4. I can understand how blogging could become overwhelming. I do have to say that I hope you don't stop completely. You have a lovely, wry wit coupled with a wonderful sense of humor, and it is always shines through that, regardless of how frazzled you might be by them, you love your children with all your heart. You are the best kind of mommy blogger and I always look forward to reading your posts. So you can count me among your faithful readers regardless of how frequently (or infrequently) you post.

Go ahead and say it. You know you want to.
