But you know those kids who live here? Man, they are all over me about eating every day and going to school and having a cake on their birthday . . . can you believe the presumptions?
Actually, the kids are fine, being kids as usual, but we have been busy in the last week. Yesterday was the first day of school, so we tried to cram in a few last days of fun, especially since their first day also happened to fall on Fiver's birthday this year.
Plus, I managed to pick up a lovely cold for the new school year, which I have generously shared with both little girls. I can't even blame the germs on school, it's on me this time.
I have a lot of pictures to share, but for today, it's all Fiver. He turned 10 yesterday, and I can't believe it. I think because we rarely looked long-range with Fiver. He always had to work so hard in the here and now, and he had overcome so much, that it was hard to imagine what he would be like years in the future.

Fast-forward a few years in the future, and he's a better kid than we could have ever imagined. We can't wait to see what a few more years bring.
