Twelve Years Today

(In My Life, from The Beatles album Rubber Soul)

Lord, bless and preserve my cherished husband, whom You have given me;
Let his life be long and blessed, comfortable and holy;
Let me ever be a blessing and a comfort to him, a sharer in all his sorrows, a consolation in all the accidents and trials of life;
Make me forever lovable in his eyes and forever dear to him;
Unite his heart to mine in fondest love and holiness, and mine to him in all sweetness, charity, and submission.
Keep me from all ungentleness;
make me humble and obedient, that we may delight in each other according to Your Blessed Word.
May both of us rejoice in you, having our portion in the love and service of God forever. Amen.

Happy Anniversary, Rob. I love you more every day.

  3. awww! The neat thing? I remember your wedding! It was the summer of weddings for Jim and I - we went to 4 or 5... and we remember yours because
    1) Rob wore a kilt
    2) it was the coolest reception
    3) we knew you'd be one of the ones to make it to forever ;)

  8. Aww, that was such a lovely slideshow! And you always pick such good music for those things. I would love to have a peek at/in your iPod.

    Can I say without being creepy (because that is not my intention in the slightest) that you have a lovely, beaming smile? It is so plainly obvious how much you love your husband and family by how happy you look.

    My Godfather is a pipe band drum major - for McGuire's, actually - and when asked the standard question about what is underneath his kilt, his stock answer (always with a mischevious grin) is "socks and shoes". It takes a special kind of a guy to wear a kilt. Congratulations to you and your special kilt-wearing guy!

    Congratulations, my dear ones... you have grown into a most beautiful family...every moment is filled with love...Pop and I knew the moment we met Rob that he was "the one" and we couldn't be happier with your choice. I wish more people could know you and see what it means to live a sacramental marriage. Anyone who enters your home can feel the love. It is contagious. We love you and thank you for giving us the indescribable joy of our grandchildren: Francie, Fiver, Sally, and Bun...
