Man Does Not Live by Sugar Cookies Alone . . .

But, boy, are my kids giving it their best shot . . .

Still baking, still running around for gifts, still trying not to lose my mind, and as much as I didn't want to admit it, not posting to the blog has been what I needed to do.

Except the problem is that I miss checking in with you all, my friends. I enjoy reading about your Christmas preparations, and each evening I look forward to my little bit of blog reading down time. I don't know how much longer I can maintain the radio silence here at the old HomeFront, but I'm still busy and scattered, so I hope you are geared up for some Grade A blog mediocrity when I manage to crawl back.

Now if I could just get all these crumbs off my keyboard . . .

  1. So glad you checked in! I understarnd the scattered...I have been running around like a chicken with its head cut off for weeks and running on about 3-4 hours of sleep a night. Today, I just crashed! Hope all your preparations are going well. Love the sugar cookies. For some freakish reason we have a tradition not to make them until Christmas Eve. Probably so there will be some left for the guy in the red suit! Enjoy this time and hope to hear from you soon!

  6. Those are some amazing Christmas cookies! Wow, everything we churn out is misshapen and gray compared to those Martha Stewart cookies in your picture! I'm glad you checked in, and I can understand why you can't do it too frequently. Glad you and yours are doing well!

I totally understand the chaos and I haven't even started cookies yet. By the way, love the train cookies- can't imagine who made those. Thomas is making his debut at our house this Christmas- what am I getting into? Good luck with the running and what not and know you are not alone.

  10. Boy it sounds like all of you are busy, busy! But just think how much fun your kids are having!! I still have some baking to do, and I'm looking forward to it, I think? The best part for me is seeing the faces on Christmas morning, and listening to x-mas music! Try to have fun & Take care! ;0)

  11. Look how pretty those are! You are a talented baker. Mine always look like blobs that some 2 year old finger painted with icing. Martha Stewart I am not.
