I am sick, my friends, and at a very inconvenient time, I might point out.
The kids have been passing around different versions of the same cold for a few weeks, but this is something different. This might be some kind of plague.
I have fevers, chills, the shakes, weird sinus pain and pressure, and body aches. I have been in bed for most of the weekend, and I am hoping to kick this bug before I have to gear up with the big Turkey Day prep.
Or else my guests will be mighty surprised to find a Make Your Own Thanksgiving Dinner when they get here.
I'm off to take a combination of over the counter drugs that will hopefully help me get rid of this virus. Or at least just knock me out. That's good too.
See you once my immune system kicks in, my friends.
Oh NO! Hoping the meds work and it's not the flu! Rest and get well SOOOOOON!!!!
ReplyDeleteSayin' a prayer on your behalf.
Feel better soon. Hope you get lots of time in bed watching 90210.
ReplyDeleteFeel better! If not, leave a sign on the door directly your guests to the nearest Denny's or Shoney's or whatever you have in your neck of the woods. Then you'd have the house all to yourself! Imagine!
ReplyDeleteugh!
ReplyDeleteIf it makes you feel better, I know a woman who had MRSA the week of Halloween. She finally got up and around last Monday. :)
Yikes! Bad timing indeed! I hope you feel better QUICK!!!!
ReplyDeleteKnock yourself out with Nyquil each night.
ReplyDeleteVitamin C.
Broth.
Get better.
Good luck--prayers are coming your way!

Don't worry about Thanksgiving. John will be there to cook, Jay can set the table, JuJu and I can do the dishes; Pop can play with the kids and we all can wash them and put them to bed! No fuss, it's just family...do not stress...
ReplyDeleteI just read the last comment, most likely from your mom, and it looks like you're off the hook this year and can start a new trend. Hopefully "make your own dinner" won't catch on too far because I LOVE my aunt's cooking.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon!
Get better! And don't be afraid to use your illness as a reason to solicit help from your guests. I'm sure they would rather help prepare a meal than take the risk of the plague. :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, Boston MArket has been known to make a great Thanksgiving feast!
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better- we too have passed (and continue to pass) the plague around our house. Hope the meds work for you!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDon't discount the make your own dinner activity though- sounds like fun!
Mirabella MOM
Bless your heart, I hope you feel better very, very soon. And if not, maybe this is the year to start the pizza-and-hot-wing Thanksgiving dinner tradition.
ReplyDeleteyeah...what they all said! I talked to Rob yesterday and he said he thought it might be a touch of the flu. Icky. But on the upside - we'll all be there to help! On the downside...Gee-gee volunteered me for dishes duty. Can I switch my job with Pop's?
ReplyDeleteFeel better! xo
I hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteSounds like the flu to me! Have some tea and meds and go BACK TO BED!
ReplyDeleteGack! Sounds like a sinus infection, and those are buggers. At the holidays even. Who invited that?!
