Head 'Em Up, Move 'Em Out

The HomeFront Corp. is taking it to the streets, in a back-to-nature kind of way. We are packing up the hooligans and heading to a campground with my parents, two brothers, sister, and assorted family friends and hangers-on. It should prove to be tons of fun, especially once my children have terrorized all the little critters in the woods.
Actually, I am looking forward to this trip, despite the forecast for a heat index somewhere between Scorching and Face of the Sun. While my parents are "tenting it," we'll be doing it up Laura Ingalls style in a little cabin. Only without the locusts, drought, wolves, and diphtheria, I hope.
The campground is part of a family amusement resort called Knoebel's, and I love this place. It is tucked away in the Pennsylvania mountains, and home to a very family friendly, old fashioned amusement park. It's like a county fair, but with better rides and more food. I really can't think of a better place to take the kids for their first camping experience. Plus, we'll have the back-up of a phalanx of family to help us wrangle them.
And as much as I love this little blog, and all my friends who drop by to say hello, I am also feeling strangely glad to close up shop for a few days. Although, I will admit that I am counting on this trip to provide me with some good material for future posts. At the rate I'm going, I'll be posting about how no one had any clothes to wear because Mommy didn't get off the computer to pack anything.
So be good (or not!) while I am away, and maybe, just maybe, I'll have a little something else to share when I get home . . .

  4. Have some funnel cake and perogies for me while you're there. I promise to try and channel the calories directly to my body... you're on vacation after all.
Oh, and the homemade fudge, and some cotton candy. Mmmm.
