This Old Carpet

I just want to know Why? Why will an 8 month old baby, who has just spit-up a large part of her prune-and-cereal breakfast all over the living room rug, find nothing more fascinating to play with than the aforementioned spit-up. She can be surrounded by a sea of toys and other little choking-hazard type goodies found on the floor (her usual toy of choice), but once that spit-up is down there - well, look out! She might as well just get down and roll around in it - oh, wait, she already has. If that team from CSI ever came through with their Luminol and black lights, they would get an Ed-u-cation. I'm just sayin' . . .
