What American accent do you have? Your Result: Philadelphia Your accent is as Philadelphian as a cheesesteak! If you're not from Philadelphia, then you're from someplace near there like south Jersey, Baltimore, or Wilmington. if you've ever journeyed to some far off place where people don't know that Philly has an accent, someone may have thought you talked a little weird even though they didn't have a clue what accent it was they heard. | |

Thanks, Barb! Although I was born just outside of Philly, I didn't technically grow up there -- but my parents did and they taught me how to speak. My accent has been diluted by the "dutchiness" of the dialect in and around Reading, PA, where I grew up, but it still comes out when I'm around my extended family (all from near Philly).

Your Result: The Midland
"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.
hmmm....TV and radio- I missed my calling. Luv ya Amos

Coming in a close second place tie were Philadelphia and Boston. Guess I've been living in NE long enough that I'm starting to talk the talk.
And, no the next time I see you I will NOT say "park the car" for your amusement.

LOL - so Aimee-Aim, I got a weird one as my answer...

The Inland North
Apparently, people often ask me if I'm from Wisconcin or Chicago...which is funny, cause I've A) never been to either place, or within 100 miles of them, and B) I've never had anyone ask that, and C) there is NO good chance that I say "pop" instead of soda.
But just to balance it all out, Philadelphia, The Northeast, and The Midland all basically tied for 2nd. Go figure!
Love from the sis.
